What is Braai Wood?

Used for Cooking and Barbeques, Braai wood comes from South Africa

 

It is harvested from fallen branches, in order to preserve the tree, it is then split and left to dry in the desert sun

 

Braai is Africaans for a barbeque or a grill and is a social occasion and custom.

The wood is extremely dense and burns very slowly with aromatic smells.

Once lit, the wood burns for a very long time with extreme temperatures, ideal for grilling.

When the fire goes out, the wood turns to charcoal and can be used again
